    ChristianaCare's Colorectal Surgery team is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant I for their department in Newark, DE at our Map I location.

    The ChristianaCare Colorectal Surgery Program is a highly specialized service featuring board‑certified surgeons who perform the most advanced colorectal procedures. Our team provides expert care for a wide range of conditions affecting the small intestine, colon, rectum, and anus, including both benign disease and complex colorectal cancers.

    We are nationally recognized for delivering comprehensive, patient‑centered care, combining innovative surgical techniques with coordinated, multidisciplinary treatment planning. Each patient receives a personalized care plan focused on achieving exceptional clinical outcomes and improving quality of life.

    Work Schedule:

    • Monday-Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

    Duties / Responsibilities:

    The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment. They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.

    Position Qualifications:

    • High School Graduate or GED required.

    • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

    Hourly Pay Range: $19.48 - $28.24
    This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
