We are looking for a Property Underwriter to join our Middle Market Property team in Copenhagen.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious underwriting professional who enjoys working closely with brokers and clients, developing business in the market, and helping shape the growth of our property portfolio. The role is well suited to someone who combines solid technical underwriting skills with commercial curiosity, strong relationship-building abilities, and a proactive mindset.
You will be part of our Danish Property team, which consists of dedicated colleagues with a focus on quality underwriting and profitable growth. We work closely with colleagues across the Danish and Nordic organization to support brokers and clients in the Danish and Norwegian markets.
As a Property Underwriter in Middle Market, you will play an important role in the continued development of our portfolio, with a particular focus on business development, market engagement, and profitable growth. You will assess risks, determine whether they fit within Chubb’s appetite, prepare quotes, negotiate terms with brokers and clients, and contribute to the expansion of our property business. The role reports to the Head of Middle Market, based in Copenhagen.
For the right candidate, the role may develop into a broader team leader role.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Identifying and developing new business opportunities
Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients, both existing and new
Assessing and underwriting property risks in the Danish and Norwegian Middle Market
Preparing quotes, negotiating terms, and supporting the full underwriting process
Promoting Chubb’s Property solutions in the market
Contributing to the growth and development of the Property portfolio
Providing high-quality service and support to brokers and clients
Collaborating closely with colleagues in Copenhagen and across the wider Nordic organization
Your qualifications:
A degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law or similar fields
Several years of experience from property underwriting or a related commercial insurance role
Strong commercial interest and a clear drive to develop business
Interest in building trusted broker relationships and expanding market presence
Confident communicator with strong negotiation and presentation skills
Fluent in Danish and English; understanding of Norwegian is an advantage
Self-driven, ambitious, and proactive
Well organized with strong process and structure skills
A service-minded team player with a positive and solution-oriented mindset
Comfortable working in an international environment and collaborating across functions and countries
As a person, you are motivated by combining technical underwriting with commercial judgment, and you enjoy contributing to growth through business development, market engagement, and strong broker relationships.
