Banking, Investment Banking, Placement Analyst, Amsterdam – Netherlands 2027

Citi is actively seeking highly motivated Placement Analysts to join its esteemed Investment Banking team in Amsterdam. The Investment Banking group plays a crucial role in advising financial sponsors and corporate clients, assisting them in raising capital within financial markets and providing strategic support for complex financial transactions. This placement offers an immersive experience of up to 6 months, commencing in January 2027. As a Placement Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financial restructurings, as well as the underwriting and distribution of equity, debt, and derivative securities.

We are deeply committed to providing comprehensive training and practical exposure to the intricacies of investment banking. The duration of this placement is designed for up to 6 months, offering a significant learning and development opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Diligently collect and thoroughly analyse company information to support transaction execution, including conducting in-depth industry research and meticulously organizing financial data.
• Perform detailed financial data analysis and develop sophisticated financial models, encompassing company valuations, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, financing structures, and comparative analyses.
• Create and finalize compelling new business development presentations that effectively communicate strategic insights and proposals.
• Efficiently coordinate tasks and workflow with both internal teams and external working groups, ensuring seamless project execution and timely delivery.
• Prepare all necessary internal documentation, including adherence to control and compliance regulations, to ensure operational integrity and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Currently in your final year of university studies or a recent graduate.
• Expected to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:1 (or equivalent academic standing) at the undergraduate level in any degree discipline or Grade 7 above if studying at a Dutch university
• A strong, demonstrable interest in business and the broader financial industry.
• Possess a record of strong academic achievement, indicating intellectual capability and dedication.
• Fluency in both English and Dutch is essential, encompassing strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
