    Job description

At Citizens, we are partners from a diverse set of backgrounds who truly listen — to understand where our clients are trying to go and bring the tools, data and strategic insights to help them get there. Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory (“CCMA”) is currently seeking a Vice President, Corporate Finance candidate focused on the Industrials verticals, primarily focused on Aerospace, Defense & Government Services, and Engineering, Construction & Industrial Services. The ideal candidate possesses an established investment banking pedigree and skill set including capital structure advisory (debt & equity financing), strategic advisory (sell-side, buy-side, structured transactions) and other corporate finance and industry-specific financial analysis. You would serve as a key resource in client discussions and presentations, alongside Citizens product partners, while participating in the origination and execution of debt, equity and M&A transactions. This is an attractive opportunity for a junior VP seeking greater client exposure, transaction experience and career advancement opportunities within an entrepreneurial, fast growing organization with competitive pay and benefits.

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Play a leadership role in transactions including mergers and acquisitions, syndicated loans, high yield, initial public offerings, and other capital markets activities within the Industrials sector
    • Develop relevant and actionable strategic and financing ideas, create thematic pitch content and analyze relevant industry trends in the delivery of presentations to existing and prospective clients
    • Help establish and cultivate long-term relationships with key decision makers at the C-suite level within middle market and mid-corporate companies and financial sponsors
    • Prepare and present offering materials / CIMs / LPs to potential investors and rating agencies, negotiate critical structural elements and act as a quarterback in all phases of transaction execution with both clients and counterparties
    • Attend industry conventions and conferences to bolster industry knowledge, establish new relationships and support existing client relationships
    • Oversee financial modeling and due diligence activities that support analytical decision making
    • Liaise with risk management teams to ensure that appropriate credit and market risks are identified and addressed
    • Mentor and train analysts and associates
    • Collaborate on cross-selling efforts with Citizens Commercial Bankers

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

    • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking and / or capital markets
    • Preference for industry knowledge and transaction experience within the broader Industrials sector
    • Proven capital markets and M&A experience with strong capital structure acumen and credit knowledge
    • 4 year degree from an accredited university; Master's degree preferred, but not required
    • Series 79 & 63 licenses
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact with clients and internal decision makers
    • Very strong quantitative and analytical skills
    • Ability to manage projects independently and assume a high level of responsibility
