Make a meaningful impact in your community! The City of Kentwood is seeking an Adaptive Recreation Instructor to provide engaging and inclusive recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
In this role, you’ll lead a variety of programs—such as arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, and social activities—while fostering a supportive, fun, and inclusive environment for all participants . As an Adaptive Recreation Instructor, you’ll:
Plan and lead adaptive recreational and enrichment programs such as Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Gardening, and Leisure Club.
Provide instruction and support tailored to participants’ needs and abilities.
Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants.
Supervise participants to ensure safety and encourage social interaction and confidence-building.
Manage program supplies, report maintenance needs, and ensure equipment is used responsibly.
Complete attendance, incident, and other department forms as required.

Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
At least one (1) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of adaptive needs and inclusion practices
