The selected candidate will prepare detailed inspection reports of field activities; obtain worksite dimensions, diagrams and photographs; collect and document asbestos samples. They will interpret laboratory reports, review air sampling reports, and may issue Notices of Violation, prepare case files and evidence; provide testimony at Environmental Control Board Hearings and trials. The selected candidate will be also serving as an emergency responder during asbestos emergency incidents in the city to assist in the remediation tasks. These include conducting inspections to determine the extent of contamination, establishing and creating hot zones, collecting bulk samples for laboratory analysis, providing guidance to asbestos abatement contractors and air monitoring firms, conducting inter-agency inspections, and other assignments as directed by the On-Site Incident Commander during the ACP’s response effort.
