General Laborer - Streets Leaf Program - S

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use hand tools such as rakes and lutes to remove leaves.
• Assist with traffic control around work sites to ensure safety.
• Perform a variety of tasks as assigned, such as cleaning, debris removal, etc. 
• Operates various types of tools & equipment including but not limited to: shovels, rakes, leaf vacuum, wheelbarrows, etc. 
• Maintain work areas and equipment clean and operable
• Interact with co-workers and the public with tact and diplomacy
• Maintain a positive attitude and consistent performance
• Manage time, make sound decisions and work independently
• Follow directions and relay work progress in an effective manner
• Follow safety procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk talk and hear.  The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or push/pull up to 75 pounds and will regularly climb into truck beds.  Specific vision abilities required in this job include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment will be primarily working outside in various weather conditions (extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, snow, etc.).  While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, around fumes or airborne particles, vibrations and may have exposure to oil,s, greases, solvents and other chemicals, bio-solids, compost and dust.  Noise conditions can vary from quiet to very loud.   

SCHEDULE: 

Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm

May vary with season/operational needs, overtime is required.
