City St George’s, University of London is the University of business, practice and the professions and brings together the expertise and excellence of City, University of London and St George’s, University of London into one institution. The combined university is now one of the largest higher education destinations for London students, combining a breadth of disciplines across health, business, policy, law, creativity, communications, science and technology. Our students are at the heart of everything that we do, and we are committed to supporting them to pursue their career and personal ambitions.
Our research is engaged, at the frontier of practice and has a positive impact on the world around us
Due to sustained growth and rising student demand, we are expanding our highly respected Bar Vocational Studies (BVS) team and are seeking talented barristers and solicitors to join us as Lecturers and Senior Lecturers. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced legal practitioners to play a leading role in training the next generation of barristers.  We are particularly interested in individuals who combine strong practical experience with a commitment to excellence, innovation and student success.  Whether or not you have taught before, we want to hear from you.  Full training, mentoring and ongoing support will be provided.  In return we offer a competitive salary, a sector-leading pension, excellent opportunities for promotion, and a supportive environment which encourages both personal and professional development.
We welcome applications from all areas of practice.  Those seeking part-time or Visiting Lecturer posts are also welcome to apply.  The City Law School encourages and supports BVS tutors to maintain active links with the professions subject to teaching commitments.  Many members of our team successfully combine a rewarding career at City with practice at the Bar, consultancy work, external board appointments, or part-time judicial and tribunal roles.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 20 September 2026 at 2359

Interviews will take place between 12 October and 16 October 2026

The selection process will involve an interview and mock tutorial.  Further details will be confirmed at the interview stage.
