This is a design leadership role at a fast-growing AI-powered procurement platform for industrial buyers. You will define how humans and AI agents collaborate across the product, shaping interaction paradigms that make complex, high-stakes cost decisions legible and trustworthy. The role sits at the heart of the product organization and directly influences profitability for large industrial customers.
Define the interaction paradigm where AI agents execute procurement workflows and buyers supervise, steer, and handle exceptions.
Create mental models, UI patterns, and frameworks that make dense procurement data accessible and actionable for non-analyst users.
Own and evolve the design system and component architecture to support agent-driven development and rapid iteration.
Translate complex procurement concepts (such as should-costing, raw material indices, and contract leakage) into clear, actionable UX.
Build, hire, and lead a team of approximately four product designers, setting standards for craft, speed, and strategic impact.
Establish design as a strategic partner in the product trio alongside product management and engineering.
Drive company-wide user understanding by implementing UX research best practices and championing real user problems.
6+ years in product design, with 2+ years leading a design team at a high-growth technology company.
Deep experience designing data-heavy, workflow-driven products and treating information density as an asset rather than a problem.
Strong systems thinking with a track record of designing in frameworks, patterns, and reusable components rather than one-off screens.
Genuine fluency with AI as a design material, including a clear point of view on LLMs, agents, automation, and human oversight.
Experience hiring and growing a design team, and establishing design-team processes and UX research programs.
Startup or high-complexity project experience with demonstrated performance in demanding, fast-moving environments.
Ability to move fluidly between strategic leadership and hands-on craft as the situation requires.
Strong collaborator with product and engineering counterparts.
Fluent in English; German proficiency is a plus.
On-site in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
