    About the role:

As Director, Data Engineering within our Global Technology & Data Team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Colliers' enterprise data engineering strategy across a complex multi-cloud environment. Partnering closely with data leadership, enterprise architecture, and technology stakeholders, you will lead the design, delivery, and operation of scalable data platforms and services that enable business transformation, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision making across North America and globally.

This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise to help drive Colliers' next-generation data ecosystem, modernize our enterprise data platforms, and position the organization for continued innovation and growth.

    • Lead enterprise data engineering strategy: Direct and scale a high-performing team of managers and data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

    • Drive modern data platform delivery: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale data platforms, including microservices architectures, data mesh and data fabric capabilities, AI/ML pipelines, Agentic AI and GenAI workflows, document extraction services, and business intelligence solutions.

    • Champion technology roadmap and innovation: Partner with Enterprise Architecture, product leaders, vendors, and technology stakeholders to define and execute the long-term data engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment with regional and global business objectives.

    • Establish operational excellence and DataOps practices: Define and enforce standards for DataOps, SDLC, CI/CD, data governance, security, documentation, code quality, and AI-enabled delivery methodologies to ensure scalable and reliable platform operations.

    • Ensure platform reliability and service excellence: Oversee the operational health, performance, and support of critical North American and global data products, driving incident management, platform availability, and adherence to enterprise service level agreements (SLAs).

    What you bring:

    • Degree and/or diploma in: Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • 8-10 years of progressive experience, preferably in: data engineering, data platform, cloud engineering, enterprise data architecture, or related technology leadership roles, including experience managing managers and technical professionals.

    • Proven experience in cloud-based data architecture and engineering: Deep expertise designing and scaling enterprise data platforms using Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Cloud Data Fusion, Cloud Run, and Apigee.

    • Strong proficiency in modern engineering practices and tools: Experience with Kubernetes, particularly GKE, microservices architecture, enterprise APIs, serverless computing, infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD frameworks.

    • Strategic understanding of BI, analytics, and artificial intelligence: Knowledge of semantic data models, Looker, Power BI, machine learning pipelines, and AI-driven solutions that accelerate engineering delivery and operational excellence.

    • Exceptional leadership and communication skills: Ability to influence senior leaders, align cross-functional teams, translate technical strategy into measurable business outcomes, and build a strong culture of accountability and collaboration.

    • Commercial real estate industry experience: Considered an asset.
