    Job description

    DynaTen (a Comfort Systems USA Company) has been successfully providing Commercial Service and Construction Solutions to the greater North Texas market. The Sheet Metal Shop Foreman is involved with managing commercial mechanical construction projects and assists with project needs including material management, personnel, schedules and communication with the project management team, customers and building officials. This is a critical position that will be highly visible in our operation.  You will help execute our organization’s strategic goals, manage key customer relationships and mentor direct reports in their day-to-day responsibilities.  Additionally, this is a position that offers professional leadership development and long-term career growth in service operations leadership and beyond.

    Responsibilities

    • Knowledge of project schedule/milestones, submittals, contract documents (addenda, specifications, drawings) and in-house shop drawing.
    • Ability to coordinate with other trades to complete HVAC/piping installations within the project scope and schedule.
    • Experience managing project crews to install multiple types of HVAC and Duct Systems.
    • Accountable for the safe performance of personnel and equipment.
    • Understanding/complies with the company tool policy and can pass these values to less experienced employees.
    • Involved with completing paperwork and daily reports, next week's plans, accident report, disciplinary reports, etc.

    Requirements

    • 5 or more years of experience in a duct work fabrication setting.
    • Familiar with SMACNA and interpreting duct construction.
    • OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred
    • Computer aptitude to learn new systems / software
    • Maintain a positive, cooperative and teachable attitude
    • Requires mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills
    • Experience overseeing shop personnel - journeyman and apprentice/helpers
    • Complies and promotes company Safety Policy
    • Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to complete required documentation electronically
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Professional demeanor and positive, caring attitude.
    • Must be able to work independently and without supervision.
    • Ability to stand, squat, bend, kneel, climb, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials
    • Ability to pass a drug screening
    • Ability to pass MVR check
    • Ability to travel, as needed based on project needs.

    Working Conditions

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, humidity, rain, snow, wind, and sunlight. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift and/or move up to 75lbs pounds. Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
