The Strategic Engagement Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships across the Joint Staff and broader Department of War community to drive long-term business growth. Reporting directly to the Division Vice President, this is a senior-level position focused on establishing trusted relationships with Government and military leaders, understanding current and emerging mission requirements, identifying opportunities well in advance of formal acquisition activity, and positioning CPT to support key customer priorities.
The successful candidate will bring significant military, Joint Staff, and Federal business development experience, along with an established understanding of how requirements, priorities, funding, and acquisition decisions develop within the DoW environment.
This individual will serve as a senior representative of CPT and will be expected to independently develop relationships, identify customer needs, shape growth strategies, and build a sustainable pipeline of qualified opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with key stakeholders across the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, DoW agencies, military Services, and other organizations supporting relevant missions.
- Establish relationships with mission owners, senior military and civilian leaders, program leadership, technical organizations, acquisition personnel, resource sponsors, and other stakeholders involved in developing or influencing requirements.
- Maintain consistent engagement with target customer stakeholders to understand mission priorities, capability gaps, operational challenges, modernization objectives, funding priorities, and emerging requirements.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the environment, including key organizations, decision makers, influencers, acquisition stakeholders, mission partners, and funding pathways.
- Identify new business opportunities through direct customer engagement and knowledge of missions, priorities, programs, and acquisition activity.
- Identify opportunities during the early stages of requirement development, allowing CPT to establish relationships, demonstrate capabilities, and develop capture strategies prior to formal solicitation.
- Build awareness of CPT's capabilities and past performance across cyber operations, cloud, enterprise networking, engineering, IT operations, modernization, Zero Trust, and other relevant mission areas.
- Translate customer mission challenges and operational requirements into actionable business development opportunities.
- Develop and execute account and customer engagement strategies for targeted organizations and mission areas.
- Provide senior leadership with customer intelligence, organizational insight, competitive information, acquisition intelligence, and recommendations regarding potential opportunities.
- Support opportunity qualification and capture strategy development based on direct knowledge of the customer, mission requirement, acquisition environment, competitive landscape, and CPT positioning.
- Maintain awareness of upcoming procurements, recompetes, contract vehicles, Requests for Information, Sources Sought notices, acquisition strategies, and other activities relevant to target requirements.
- Identify and develop relationships with strategic industry partners and potential teaming organizations that enhance CPT's ability to pursue opportunities.
- Represent CPT at senior-level customer meetings, industry engagements, conferences, capability briefings, demonstrations, and other events relevant to business growth.
- Maintain accountability for customer engagements, opportunity development, follow-up activities, pipeline development, and overall progress against growth objectives.
