Country Manager Singapore
Location: Kranji War Cemetery, Singapore
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: SGD 6,000 – SGD 7,500 per month, depending upon experience
Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:30)
We are seeking a Country Manager for Singapore to provide dedicated, in-country leadership for one of CWGC’s most significant sites in the Asia-Pacific region. As our operations grow in complexity and importance, this role ensures that our standards, values, and responsibilities are upheld at the highest level. You will be more than an operational leader—you will be the guardian of a historic landscape, ensuring it remains a place of dignity, remembrance, and inspiration for generations to come.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all estates and horticultural operations in Singapore, from planning to execution and performance improvement.
- Develop and deliver annual and multi-year horticultural programmes aligned with CWGC standards.
- Ensure asset care, sustainability, and environmental management are integrated into all operations.
- Manage and develop staff and contractors, fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture.
- Maintain accurate technical records, asset registers, and maintenance schedules to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Oversee financial management, including monthly accounts, budgeting, and reporting.
- Ensure full compliance with Singapore regulations and CWGC policies, including health and safety standards.
- Coordinate events, ceremonies, and VIP visits, delivering exceptional and respectful experiences.

In this role, your leadership will directly shape how thousands of visitors, families, and dignitaries experience one of the CWGC’s most significant sites in the region. You will:
- Preserve dignity and legacy by ensuring Kranji War Cemetery consistently meets and exceeds world-class horticultural and presentation standards.
- Lead with excellence across estates, horticulture, and asset conservation—bringing together operational precision and long-term sustainability.
- Influence regional success by contributing to the CAPA Area Business Plan and supporting broader Pacific operations.
- Elevate visitor experience by delivering an environment of calm, beauty, and respect—worthy of those commemorated.
- Represent CWGC at the highest level, engaging with government agencies, diplomatic missions, and VIP visitors during ceremonial and official events.
What you’ll need to bring to this rewarding role:
- A relevant post‑secondary technical qualification from a recognized institution, preferably in horticulture, landscape management, plant science, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent relevant experience.
- A minimum of five years’ experience working in a horticultural, agricultural, or related environment
- Proven leadership in horticulture or landscape operations, with experience managing teams, contractors, and complex work programs.
- Technical excellence, including knowledge of irrigation systems, soil health, plant care, and landscape asset management.
- A strategic mindset, able to plan multi-year programmes while delivering day-to-day operational success.
- Strong financial and operational discipline, including budget management, reporting, and contractor oversight.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage effectively with staff, stakeholders, and high-profile visitors.
- A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, underpinned by sound judgment and accountability.
- Respect for heritage environments, with an appreciation for the importance of conservation and commemoration.
