The Teacher Float provides classroom support across multiple Head Start classrooms and sites, ensuring children receive high-quality care and instruction. This position works collaboratively with lead and associate teachers to support school readiness goals, maintain a safe and nurturing environment, and foster positive relationships with children and families. The Teacher Float serves as a flexible team member, assisting with classroom activities, compliance tasks, and family engagement initiatives, while upholding program standards and regulations.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
· Previous experience in early childhood education or Head Start program preferred.
· Knowledge of school readiness and child development principles.
· Ability to implement developmentally appropriate practices and support social-emotional learning.
· Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and staff in a manner appropriate to the responsibilities of the position, including the ability to follow safety, licensing, and program-related instructions.
· Ability to work flexibly across classrooms and sites as needed.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
· Physical ability to participate in classroom activities, including lifting, bending, and outdoor play supervision.
· CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
