Carpenter, Full-Time

Position Highlights:

• Position: Carpenter
• Schedule: M-F with rotating on call
• Location: Main Hospital – May require to travel to other departments as needed

Responsibilities:

• Put your craftsmanship to work maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing carpentry throughout the hospital and ancillary facilities. Build, install, renovate, repair, demolish, finish, and paint structures, fixtures, furnishings, locks, and related building equipment. Independently assess project needs, plan each assignment, estimate time and materials, and use a variety of hand and power tools to deliver safe, high-quality results.
• Help keep our facilities safe, reliable, and inspection-ready by performing preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. Support Joint Commission compliance by correcting identified deficiencies and completing Plan for Improvement (PFI) items. Manage assigned work orders from start to finish, including ordering materials and coordinating schedules.
• Take ownership of a wide range of general maintenance needs across the hospital and ancillary facilities. Prioritize and complete assigned work orders efficiently, secure the materials needed for each job, and coordinate work schedules to minimize disruption to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Play an active role in construction and renovation projects that improve the care environment. Plan and install new or modified walls and partitions; complete finish carpentry and cabinet work; install or alter doors and windows; paint; and install carpet and base materials. Follow infection prevention and control requirements throughout all renovation and construction activities.
• Expand your skills through cross-training in other building trades and contribute to light plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and grounds maintenance. Collaborate across disciplines to help keep hospital facilities operating smoothly.

Requirements:

No educational requirement.

Five (5) years of Carpentry/Mechanical experience

OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation:

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $ 28.00 – 32.20 per hour, commensurate with qualifications, education, experience, and other applicable factors. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Additional compensation may be available in the form of discretionary incentive or other compensation programs. Any such additional compensation is not guaranteed and is determined at the sole discretion of the organization based on applicable program terms, individual and/or organizational performance, and other eligibility requirements.
