Job Summary:
As an Emergency Department (ED) Clerk at Community Hospital, you are an essential part of the ED team. The primary duties are customer service focused and include registering patients into the Electronic Medical Record, verifying all demographics and insurance information. Provides support to clinical staff and physicians in the needs of the patient.

Responsibilities:
- Completes admitting functions for outpatients and ER patients.
- Collects and verifies accurate insurance information.
- Collects financial paperwork (i.e. Patient responsibility statement, etc).
- Completes HDC questionnaire for patients requesting screenings and all uninsured patients during the long registration process and uploads into chart.
- Contacts physician offices, for Emergency Department physicians, regarding consults and admissions.
- Notifies ancillary departments and tracks information for Trauma alerts and activations.
- Overhead pages all Codes throughout the hospital.
- Answers phone appropriately and transfers as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Customer Service Skills required
- Medical Terminology required
Compensation:
- The anticipated compensation range for this position is $19.00-$21.85 per hour, commensurate with qualifications, education, experience, and other applicable factors. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Additional compensation may be available in the form of discretionary incentive or other compensation programs. Any such additional compensation is not guaranteed and is determined at the sole discretion of the organization based on applicable program terms, individual and/or organizational performance, and other eligibility requirements.

- Relocation: Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO 81505 before starting work.
