We give you a world of potential

The Regulatory and Market Initiatives (RMI) team engages with strategic developments across international securities markets, especially those that impact trading and settlement, transfers and administration of securities, transparency of share ownership, management of general meetings, corporate actions and shareholder communications. This team of international market experts develops, shares, and implements appropriate strategies to capitalise on, initiate, or respond to global regulatory and market developments impacting issuers, investors, and markets globally, working closely with our local business experts in each market.

RMI are looking for a motivated Senior Manager to join our team in developing and implementing strategies to respond to a wave of change in capital markets, helping to reduce market inefficiencies, leverage the benefits of technologies to grow our business and support clients and shareholders, and respond to market structure and regulatory changes. This role will be focused on developments in the Asia Pacific region, primarily Australia, New Zealand & Hong Kong.

    A role you will love

In this role, you will analyse major market and regulatory developments, to assess impact on Computershare’s business structure, operations and strategy and on our clients.  You will leverage your deep experience in capital markets to contribute to our strategic analysis and responses. You will identify opportunities/threats arising from strategic initiatives and provide advice and input into the development and delivery of response approaches, to influence market/regulatory outcomes; and identify potential commercial opportunities for Computershare. Your strong communication skills will help you present complex issues; and represent Computershare, including liaising and negotiating preferred outcomes.

What will you bring to the role?

    • To succeed in this role, you will have relevant degree level education (or equivalent) and deep capital markets experience, preferably with engagement in industry developments.

    • You have strong analytical abilities, are experienced in reviewing complex material and will be able to identify key issues for Computershare. You have the ability to tackle problems and take independent action, act on opportunities and generate new ideas. You will use your market experience to understand operational, market structure and legal/regulatory concepts and requirements, and contextualize the strategic impact on Computershare’s business model and our role in capital markets.

    • You have strong oral and written communications skills – you can present complex issues and their implications; liaise and negotiate with peers and senior executives; and represent Computershare in the market, including negotiating preferred outcomes in developments.
