    Job Summary

    The Level 1, HVAC Mechanical Apprentice is responsible for assisting with delivering and installing portable HVAC equipment. They will load, deliver, and install equipment to a variety of customer sites for emergencies or scheduled events. They will provide professional, respectful service while performing work and/or solving on-site challenges. This position reports to the Regional Service Manager, Critical Power Operations, and have no direct reports.

    • The travel expectation: out in the field for 2 weeks straight, then returning to the home base for a period of possibly 1 week before travelling again throughout the assigned area – Will receive a company vehicle and partner with another technician, as well as, receive other related tools/services.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
    • Assist with delivery and installation of portable HVAC equipment.
    • Ensure all work is performed according to safety regulations and building codes.
    • Review mechanical and technical manuals, and project specifications to understand project requirements.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and identify solutions.
    • Maintain detailed project documentation including progress reports, work orders and inspection reports.
    • Coordinate problem resolution with Technical Support, Customer Service, Sales, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
    • Travel to other branches or sites, as required, to assist with product installation, removal, or repairs.
    • Implement quality control measures to ensure project standards are met.
    • Proactively identify and address potential quality issues.
    • Conduct regular quality checks throughout the project.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Key Performance Measurements

    • A score card that reflects performance in areas such as safety, efficiency, work order completion, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution.
    • Exercise high degree of time management skill, resulting in greater than 90% time billable to customers.
    • Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, and willingness and ability to learn new skills and information.
    • Other key performance indicators as assigned.
