    Sales Manager

    Position Summary

    The Sales Manager is responsible for generating hotel revenue through proactive sales efforts, account management, business development, and strategic marketing initiatives. This position focuses on identifying new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing accounts to maximize occupancy, ADR, and overall revenue performance.

    The Sales Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients and hotel operations, ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the sales process and delivering a seamless guest experience. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, revenue awareness, organization, and the ability to collaborate effectively with hotel leadership and operational departments.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Sales & Business Development

    • Generate new business through prospecting, networking, sales calls, direct sales efforts, community involvement, and client relationship development.
    • Manage and grow existing accounts while identifying opportunities for repeat and referral business.
    • Conduct hotel site tours and presentations for prospective clients.
    • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
    • Identify and secure business from corporate, government, project-based, relocation, sports, healthcare, construction, and other target market segments.
    • Participate in local networking events, trade shows, and community organizations to build relationships and increase hotel visibility.

    Account & Revenue Management

    • Maintain awareness of market conditions, competitive positioning, and pricing strategies.
    • Collaborate with Revenue Management to maximize occupancy, ADR, and overall hotel profitability.
    • Accurately forecast group room revenue and business opportunities.
    • Monitor account production and proactively adjust sales strategies to meet objectives.
    • Meet or exceed established sales activity goals, including prospecting calls, appointments, site visits, and revenue targets.

    Client Service & Coordination

    • Deliver exceptional customer service through timely responses, professional communication, and consistent follow-through.
    • Coordinate client requirements with hotel departments to ensure successful execution of agreements and events.
    • Maintain detailed records regarding contracts, room blocks, concessions, client preferences, and account history.
    • Serve as a liaison between clients and operations teams to ensure guest satisfaction and long-term account retention.
    • Attend client functions, networking events, and customer appreciation activities as needed.

    Administrative & Operational Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate sales activity, account information, and opportunity tracking within Delphi and other approved sales systems.
    • Utilize property management, CRM, and sales systems effectively to support business development efforts.
    • Prepare reports, forecasts, action plans, and sales updates as required.
    • Participate in department meetings, training programs, and hotel planning initiatives.
    • Support hotel leadership with special projects and other reasonable duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of hospitality sales experience preferred.
    • Hotel sales experience strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to prospect, negotiate, and close business opportunities.
    • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
    • Experience using Delphi, CI/TY, CRM platforms, or comparable sales software preferred.
    • Strong analytical skills with understanding of hotel revenue management principles.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with hotel leadership and operational teams.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local sales activities preferred.
