The Project Controls Engineer is responsible for supporting project teams through data-driven tools and analysis that enhance visibility into cost, schedule, and risk performance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects stay on track, on budget, and aligned with strategic objectives by leveraging advanced Excel models, dashboards, and integrated reporting systems. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and adept at working cross-functionally to manage financial controls, forecasting, and scheduling across multiple projects in the renewable energy construction sector.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain project trackers, dashboards, and reports to monitor production, costs, productivity, budgets, schedules, forecasts, and overall project performance.
• Manage project financial controls, including budgets, commitments, expenditures, purchase orders, cost allocations, buyout tracking, client billing, and Schedule of Values (SOV).
• Perform earned value, cost-to-complete, forecasting, and variance analysis to identify financial risks, support recovery planning, and improve project performance.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly project performance reports, dashboards, and analysis for project leadership and stakeholders.
• Support project scheduling, change management, and risk management activities, including Primavera P6 schedules, change orders, and Risk & Opportunities logs.
• Collaborate with project, procurement, AP/AR, and scheduling teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, invoicing, coding, and project documentation.
• Support project controls systems and process improvements across platforms including Procore, NetSuite, B2W, Power BI, UKG, and Excel, including system enhancements, testing, reporting integrations, and audit/closeout documentation.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, or financial project management within construction or renewable energy.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, macros, data visualization, and reporting.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail and the ability to interpret project financial data, cost controls, earned value management (EVM), and forecasting.
• Proficiency with project tracking and reporting platforms such as Power BI, Procore, UKG, NetSuite, or similar systems.
• Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic project environment.
• Ability to work primarily in an office setting while navigating active construction sites as needed, including walking, climbing stairs, and uneven terrain; valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to travel to project sites approximately 25–50% of the time.
