    • Inspect kayaks and related recreational equipment for wear, damage, safety concerns, and operational readiness.
    • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance schedules, completed repairs, parts used, and outstanding service needs.
    • Clearly document work performed and communicate repair updates, safety issues, and equipment concerns in a timely manner.
    • Support high fleet availability by prioritizing assigned critical repairs and proactively identifying recurring maintenance issues.
    • Track, organize, and care for assigned tools, equipment, and parts inventory across service locations.
    • Provide professional and helpful customer service when interacting with partners, program staff, renters, and community members.
    • Follow all company safety procedures and immediately escalate safety concerns or equipment issues requiring corrective action.
    • Travel overnight as needed, including stand-alone service visits of up to 3 days and travel up to 50% during peak usage season.
    • Work outdoors in changing weather conditions while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work approach.
    • Follow company policies related to receipts, daily accountability, vehicle use, documentation, and assigned work responsibilities.

    Requirements

    • Strong dedication to safety through quality maintenance and careful inspections.
    • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, bicycle-specific tools, and basic diagnostic processes.
    • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete repairs independently.
    • Excellent communication, follow-through, and documentation skills.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple work orders, locations, and service priorities.
    • Comfortable working independently while staying productive and accountable.
    • Reliable transportation required.
    • Must be able to use a personal vehicle for local maintenance needs.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
    • Ability to work weekends as needed.
    • Comfortable with physical demands, including standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, and moving equipment.
    • Passion for biking, kayaking, micro mobility, safe recreation, and working outdoors.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience repairing and maintaining bicycles in a shop, fleet, mobile service, bikeshare, or outdoor recreation setting.
    • Experience with kayaks, paddling equipment, trailers, racks, docks, or other recreational rental equipment.
    • Familiarity with e-bikes, scooters, or other micro mobility equipment.
    • Experience completing field service work or traveling to multiple service locations.
    • Comfort working in public-facing outdoor environments.
