Overview
The primary purpose of the Knitting Technician position is to keep knit equipment functional and perform preventative maintenance functions.
Responsibilities
- Performs daily mechanical upkeep, troubleshooting, repairs and quality functions inclusive of lubrication cycles and quality assurance.
- Performs re-needling of circular knit equipment and maintaining task files for maintenance of equipment.
- Determines and changes fabric weights and maintains knowledge of this work.
- Performs cam arrangements on knit equipment.
- Operates machines for production purposes, if needed.
- Others may be assigned.

Must understand knit terminology and have knowledge of single jersey machines and all aspects of the mechanics of such.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection to be used.

The employee must occasionally transport and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to utilize magnifying glass to count courses of yarn. Must be able to work with small parts and minute settings
