Overview
We're hiring a Building Engineer/Maintenance Technician to keep the buildings and systems across our managed properties running safely and reliably. You'll handle preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on building systems, respond to work orders, and coordinate with specialty vendors on larger repairs. This position reports to the Property Manager.
Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool/spa equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they come up
- Complete general building repairs — doors, locks, drywall, paint, fixtures, and similar
- Perform light carpentry and handyman-level repairs as needed
Work Orders & Inspections
- Respond to and close out resident/owner maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Conduct routine building and common-area inspections; log and report deficiencies
- Track recurring maintenance items (filters, life-safety equipment, pool chemicals) on a set schedule
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records
Vendor & Team Coordination
- Coordinate with specialty vendors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevator, pool) on repairs beyond in-house scope
- Escort and oversee vendors on-site to confirm work is completed correctly
- Communicate maintenance status, urgent issues, and completed work to the Property Manager
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
Qualifications
- 3+ years of building maintenance experience; multifamily, resort, or HOA property experience a plus
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Comfortable performing general repairs and light carpentry
- Able to prioritize and complete work orders with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- HVAC or trade certification a plus, or willingness to obtain one
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Available for occasional after-hours or emergency call-outs

- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to walk, stand, and sit 8-10 hours per day and may have exposure to basic cleaning supply chemicals.
- The team member is occasionally required to climb and use balance. Additionally, they will frequently be asked to use their hands and arms to reach, carry, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member will experience temperature fluctuations (rain, wind, heat, humidity), and moderate to high noise levels.
