Reservoir Engineer – Asset Development

We are seeking a Reservoir Engineer to support asset development across our unconventional portfolio. This role will focus on development planning, production forecasting, and performance evaluation to optimize capital efficiency and recovery. The Reservoir Engineer collaborates across multidisciplinary teams to drive key business decisions on asset development. Success in this role means seeing how individual well results connect to the broader development plans, questioning established approaches where the data supports a better one, and helping the organization adapt as the portfolio grows. This role is expected to operate with a high degree of independence while maintaining a strong, team-first mentality, balancing day-to-day economic evaluations with comprehensive well performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and maintain production forecasts, type curves, and development cases for assigned asset areas

• Evaluate well and reservoir performance using rate transient analysis (RTA), pressure transient analysis (PTA), and numerical simulation when necessary

• Develop recommendations related to well spacing, landing zones, completion design, and production practices

• Perform project-level economic analyses for the purpose of AFEs and field development utilizing ARIES

• Lead integrated lookbacks that connect reservoir performance with drilling, completion, and operating outcomes

• Evaluate and report competitor results detailing interpreted strategies and how it relates to internal practices

• Work with the Finance team on budget and long-term forecasting, consistent with the Company’s development plan

• Partner with Land, Commercial, and Finance to advance opportunities — identifying and evaluating trades, swaps, and bolt-on transactions adding resource and extending inventory at attractive returns

Required Qualifications

• Proven team-first mentality with a track record of actively collaborating across disciplines

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline

• 4 or more years of upstream operator experience, with a minimum of 2 years of dedicated reservoir engineering experience

• Experience in Unconventional Reservoirs

• Strong technical expertise and daily proficiency in ARIES for economic evaluation and decline curve analysis

• Proficiency in RTA software, specifically Whitson+

• Ability to leverage Generative AI tools for practical engineering problem-solving, data analysis, and workflow efficiency

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Eagle Ford, Permian, or Uinta basins

• Mix of reservoir, planning, or production operations

• Proficiency in Spotfire or other visualization tools, ability to navigate/modify existing scripts to build robust data visualizations
