    Position Summary

    The Assist Project Manager is part of the company's "management representative" and is responsible for the safe completion of their projects within budget, on schedule, to the company's quality standards, and to the customer's satisfaction. When the project dictates it is their responsibility to assist the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager in portions of the management scope. It is their responsibility to initiate required action to achieve these objectives and to ensure all project activities are consistent with contract documents and the company’s policies. The Project Manager’s duties will vary as required to support the project team. The Project Manager and Superintendent or Project Superintendent will work as a complementary team where the sum of their efforts is greater than their individual efforts. The Project Manager’s first responsibility is to support the effectiveness of the Superintendent or Project Superintendent and the project staff. Generally, the Project Manager will concentrate on long-term planning, scheduling, and the identification and resolution of possible "roadblocks" and "pitfalls" which could have an impact on the project. The Project Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all logistical support is completed in a timely manner so that the Superintendent or Project Superintendent can concentrate on the daily and weekly direction of the company's resources and coordination of subcontractors.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Safety - The primary responsibility for job safety rests with the Superintendent, but it is the Project Manager's responsibility to ensure safety is properly incorporated into job planning and execution; promote accountability among staff members and subcontractors as it relates to the project safety policies; and enforce these policies by actively participating in all safety-related functions
    2. Pre-job Planning and Mobilization - Prepare & submit front end documentation required per specifications
    3. Purchasing Responsibility - Most major purchasing is accomplished by the Estimating Department, but the ultimate total project contracting responsibility rests with the Project Manager. The three most important points in good subcontract writing are 1) Scope; 2) Scope; 3) Scope.
    4. Project & Procurement Scheduling – Assist in developing the Overall job schedule in P6 software and major equipment delivery schedule.
    5. Customer/Owner Relations - Regularly visit with the customer and Engineer and probe for problems which may not be obvious to jobsite personnel. Maintain open communications. Should have monthly progress meetings with the Owner/Engineer whether required or not.
    6. Proficient in using our software keeping an accurate log of all documentation for the project.
    7. Expediting of vendors and subcontractors.
    8. Prioritize submittals w/ Superintendent based on what he will need first. Superintendent will need O&M Manual’s for all Installations before he starts installing equipment.
    9. Submittals – Ensure PE’s have the knowledge, ability and workload to properly review and process submittals in a timely manner. This includes having a Submittal Transmittal and Delivery Log to accurately track the submittals.
    10. Work with Superintendent controlling company owned & rental equipment costs.
    11. Use Variance Modifications as needed, total-to-date modifications, & confirm quantities are being tracked and inputted into Spectrum.
    12. Track certified payroll if required.
    13. Submit monthly pay requests to the Engineer/Owner.
    14. Assist with Progress payments from Owner to Subcontractors. (Payouts)
    15. Cost Reports - Weekly and monthly review of job cost reports and preparation of monthly PM Report. Review the following monthly with the DM and Superintendent:
    16. Organization of Box
    17. Project Schedule
    18. 3-week look-ahead schedules
    19. Daily reports
    20. Procore submittal log
    21. Procore RFI log
    22. Procore potential CO log
    23. Monthly project meeting minutes
    24. Carefully analyze cost and schedule problems and initiate alternatives for course correction.
    25. Quality Control and Startup – Work with the Superintendent to ensure that a quality control plan is setup for the project. Work with the Superintendent in creating a start-up plan and following through with to ensure a properly functioning plant or project.
    26. Gathering of close out documents from the beginning of project.
    27. Each month the list of subcontractors on each project should be reviewed and any unusual (good or bad) situations developing with a subcontractor should be reported to the Division Manager. Such items as performance, information regarding financial stability, and problems on other Company projects should be considered.

    Qualifications:

    - Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (Preferred).

    - 1–3 years of experience in construction project coordination or management support (Preferred).

    - Basic understanding of construction processes, contracts, and project delivery methods (Preferred).

    - OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (Preferred).

    - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications (Preferred).

    - Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required (Preferred).

    Skills & Knowledge:

    - Strong organizational and time management skills (Preferred).

    - Effective verbal and written communication skills (Preferred).

    - Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, P6, Spectrum, Microsoft Office) (Preferred).

    - Basic cost control and scheduling knowledge (Preferred).

    - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment (Preferred).

    - Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities (Preferred).

    - Working knowledge of safety standards and compliance practices (Preferred).

    - Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and clients (Preferred).

    - Commitment to safety culture and OSHA compliance (Preferred).
