Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise concrete crew performing excavating, forming, reinforcing, placing, finishing, and related concrete work.
- Plan daily work activities and assign crew members based on project needs.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, elevations, and layout information.
- Coordinate concrete pours, manpower, equipment, materials, and deliveries.
- Verify forms, reinforcing steel, embeds, anchor bolts, and elevations prior to placement.
- Monitor productivity and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
- Maintain high standards for concrete quality and workmanship.
- Communicate effectively with project superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades.
- Identify field issues and assist with developing practical solutions.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Conduct daily safety tool box talks and ensure proper PPE is used.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower information, and production documentation as required.
- Operate construction equipment and tools when necessary.
- Train and mentor crew members and promote teamwork.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial concrete construction experience preferred.
- Previous concrete crew leadership or foreman experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of concrete forming, placement, finishing, reinforcement, and layout.
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
- Understanding of construction sequencing, elevations, grades, and tolerances.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50–75 pounds.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work on uneven surfaces.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and perform physically demanding construction activities.
