Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters and finishers with concrete construction activities.
- Prepare jobsites prior to concrete placement.
- Move and organize forming materials, lumber, reinforcing steel, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with setting and stripping concrete forms.
- Place and tie reinforcing steel and welded wire reinforcement as directed.
- Assist during concrete pours with chute handling, raking, shoveling, vibrating, and placement.
- Perform concrete demolition and cleanup when necessary.
- Install curing materials and perform concrete protection activities.
- Clean tools, forms, equipment, and work areas.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, compactors, saws, and other equipment after proper training.
- Load and unload construction materials.
- Follow instructions provided by foremen and supervisors.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
- Perform other construction duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous construction or concrete experience preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn concrete construction methods and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the workday.
- Willingness to work overtime when project schedules require it.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and carry 50–75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, push, and pull throughout the workday.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to work safely around construction equipment and active concrete operations.
