Assistant Baseball Coach

The Assistant Baseball Coach provides Christ-centered support for Crown College's NCAA Division III Baseball program. The coach is responsible for developing student-athletes spiritually, academically, personally, and athletically while advancing the mission of Crown College. The position assists and supports all aspects of the programs, including recruiting, coaching, administration, compliance, staff leadership, and community engagement and will primarily focus on hitting and infield play.

Supervisor: This position reports to the Head Baseball Coach

Essential Functions:

· Disciple and mentor student-athletes spiritually, academically, athletically, and personally.

· Monitor academic progress and support student success.

· Complete administrative responsibilities accurately and on time.

· Serve as the program’s Hitting Coach and Infield Coach

• Coach first base during games
• Assist with offensive and defensive player development
• Assist with opponent scouting and game preparation
• Recruit prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA and institutional guidelines
• Assist with team travel arrangements and logistics
• Assist with administrative responsibilities associated with the baseball program
• Participate in practices, games, team activities, and other program responsibilities
• Support the overall mission, culture, and values of Crown College and the baseball program

· Sit or stand for extended periods and perform extensive computer and mobile-device work.

· Possess hand and arm dexterity, or an equivalent ability, sufficient for keyboard use and operation of creative-production equipment.

· Possess adequate vision to accommodate frequent viewing of computer screens and review of visual content.

· Frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and infrequently lift or move up to 25 pounds, including production equipment.

· Occasionally move throughout campus and off-campus locations and work in moderate-to-high noise environments during events.

 Qualifications:

· Demonstrated commitment to Jesus Christ and the mission of Crown College.

· Previous collegiate coaching and recruiting success.

· Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and compliance.

· Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.

· Agreement with and commitment to abide by the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
