    Job description

Built to set the gold standard for integrated AI infrastructure

Crux AI is a newly formed, U.S.-based integrated AI infrastructure company created to remove the physical and operational constraints on consequential AI ambitions. Crux brings together power, high-density data centers, TPU silicon, networking, orchestration software, and ongoing operations as one integrated system.

Crux is being capitalized to plan every layer together, develop each one to demanding standards, and operate the whole system with efficiency and reliability. That gives hyperscalers, frontier AI labs, sovereign customers, enterprises, and AI-native companies greater freedom to pursue the AI they are here to create.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

Reporting directly to CEO Ben Treynor Sloss, you will define and lead Crux AI’s commercial strategy, determining how the company prices, allocates, and monetizes a finite and extraordinarily valuable supply of AI infrastructure. You will structure and negotiate the company’s largest multi-year customer agreements, balancing price, capacity commitments, delivery schedules, counterparty quality, and long-term economics. You will build a rigorous view of supply and demand to inform pricing, forecasting, and how much capacity to sell forward versus retain for shorter-duration opportunities.

You will build Crux AI’s commercial operating system from the ground up, connecting customer commitments to infrastructure development, hardware deployment, and capital allocation while developing a deliberate portfolio of scaled, investment-grade customers. Over time, you will build a lean, high-caliber commercial team across account management, marketing, and solution architecture, using AI and automation to drive sharper insights and more efficient execution.

    SIGNALS OF SUCCESS

After 60 days in this role:

    • You have developed a clear understanding of the company’s capacity roadmap, infrastructure economics, TPU offering, customer landscape, and competitive alternatives. You have established strong relationships with Ben Sloss and the leadership team and can engage credibly across technical, financial, and customer stakeholders.

    • You have established the core commercial framework, including customer segmentation, demand intelligence, pricing, capacity allocation, and criteria for evaluating major opportunities.

    • You are operating as a principal in the company’s most important commercial negotiations, not simply advising from the sidelines.

    • You have developed a clear framework for determining how much capacity to contract in advance, retain closer to delivery, or leave exposed to market pricing.

    After 6 months:

    • You have established a disciplined commercial operating system connecting customer demand to infrastructure supply, with a data-driven view of demand, pricing, competitive capacity, and forward economics.

    • You have personally advanced and negotiated key strategic customer agreements while establishing repeatable frameworks for pricing, contracting, counterparty evaluation, and capacity allocation.

    • You have created a clear framework for determining how much capacity to contract in advance, retain closer to delivery, or leave exposed to market pricing.

    After 1 year:

    • The company is approaching its first product launch with a high-quality portfolio of contracted customers and a commercial model positioned to support its next phase of growth.

    • You have helped secure large-scale capacity commitments, representing tens of billions of dollars in potential annual contracted value.

    • This business is recognized by the world’s most sophisticated AI buyers as a credible, institutional-quality infrastructure provider with the ability to deliver capacity reliably and at scale.

    • You have built the foundation of a lean, analytically rigorous commercial organization capable of scaling alongside the business.

EXPERIENCES, ATTRIBUTES AND MINDSET THAT INDICATE A GOOD MATCH

    Experiences

    • AI infrastructure expertise. Experience across AI infrastructure, hyperscale cloud, accelerated compute, data centers, or adjacent markets, with the technical credibility to engage sophisticated infrastructure buyers.

    • Complex commercial dealmaking. Personally structured and negotiated $1B+ strategic agreements, with deep experience across pricing, contract structure, demand forecasting, and capacity portfolio management.

    • Frontier customer exposure. Direct experience with frontier AI labs, hyperscalers, or similarly sophisticated technology customers and a strong understanding of how they evaluate large-scale infrastructure commitments.

    Attributes

    • Hands-on builder. A player-coach who can personally lead critical negotiations while building TPU Co’s GTM organization, processes, and capabilities from a blank sheet.

    • Exceptional commercial judgment. Able to develop an independent view on pricing, customer economics, supply/demand, and when and how capacity should be sold.

    • Technical credibility. Fluent in AI infrastructure and compute economics to earn credibility with technical buyers while translating complexity into commercial decisions.

    Mindset

    • AI-native practitioner. Actively uses AI tools and agents to improve research, analysis, customer intelligence, and personal productivity.

    • High tolerance for ambiguity. Makes clear decisions despite rapidly changing technology, customer demand, pricing, and incomplete information.

    • First-principles thinker. Builds the commercial model appropriate for this company rather than importing conventional SaaS or enterprise-sales playbooks.

Nice to have (preferred, not required)

    • Exposure to power, energy, data center development, project finance, or capital markets, with an understanding of how infrastructure economics influence commercial decisions.

    • Top-tier strategy consulting experience, particularly advising technology, cloud, infrastructure, energy, or capital-intensive businesses on commercial strategy, pricing, market structure, or large-scale transactions.

    • Experience navigating multiple technology generations or hardware platforms and their implications for pricing, customer commitments, and technology risk.

    • Exposure to marketing, account management, or solution architecture; traditional breadth across every CRO function is additive, but less important than commercial judgment, analytical horsepower, and complex-deal execution.

    Salary Range Information

The annual salary range for this position has been estimated based on market data and other factors. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.

    About the company

    Crux AI

Built to set the gold standard for integrated AI infrastructure   Crux AI is a newly formed, U.S.-based integrated AI infrastructure company created to remove the physical and operational constraints on the world’s most consequential AI ambitions. Crux will finance, develop, and operate the full chain required to deliver large-scale TPU compute—from power and high-density data centers to silicon, networking, orchestration software, and ongoing operations—as one integrated system.   Those ambitions extend far beyond frontier models. They include faster drug discovery, earlier diagnoses, personalized treatment, mathematical breakthroughs, adaptive education, robotics for disaster response, energy optimization, national security, and data sovereignty. Their progress depends on reliable access to large blocks of accelerated compute—and on the power, facilities, networks, software, and technical expertise required to keep that compute running.   Crux is being capitalized and designed to address these constraints together. Its integrated model supports long-range capacity planning, efficient data center development, optimized TPU clusters, flexible service commitments, and dependable production operations. Crux will serve hyperscalers, frontier AI labs, sovereign and public-sector customers, global enterprises, and AI-native companies through compute-as-a-service and related infrastructure services.   This is the standard Crux is being built to set: every layer planned together, financed for the long term, and operated as one system—giving customers the freedom to focus on the AI they are here to create.
