    Human Resources Generalist

    The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is a versatile HR professional who oversees the day-to-day administration and operations of an organization's human resources functions. They are the key business partner responsible for driving talent, associates engagement, compliance and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate aligns employee relations with business goals and company core values. They will oversee the onboarding experience, support employee development initiatives and are a proactive, people-oriented, energizing professional.

    The Big Tasks of a Human Resource Generalist

    Rather than specializing in a single area—such as compensation, benefits, or recruiting—an HR Generalist handles a wide spectrum of duties, including:

    • HR Administration & Compliance: Maintaining personnel records, enforcing workplace policies, and ensuring adherence to employment laws and safety regulations
    • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Recruiting and onboarding coordination support; sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and orientation new employees.
    • Employee Relations: Addressing employee concerns, resolving workplace conflicts, facilitating performance reviews and performance management corrective action processes
    • Benefits & Payroll Support: Assisting employees with benefit enrollments, leave requests, and payroll inquiries.
    • Culture & Engagement: Driving employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, workplace recognition programs and support continued education training initiatives

    In short, an HR Generalist serves as a primary link between employees and management, ensuring smooth operational HR processes while supporting healthy workplace culture and compliance.

    Key Sub-Tasks for the Human Resources Generalist Role

    • Provide policy and HR best-practice guidance
    • Help design mentorship and career pathing initiatives
    • Support leadership with training and development activities
    • Maintain HRIS data integrity and workflows
    • Promote wellness and employee well-being programs
    • Perform other administrative duties as assigned across HR operations

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • Strong knowledge of employment laws and best hiring practices.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust at all organizational levels
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Demonstrates discretion and confidentiality
    • Experience with onboarding, training, and employee development preferred
    • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
    • Attention to detail and a solutions-focused mindset
    • Proficiency with HRIS platforms; BambooHR and Google Suite preferred.
    • Commitment to continuous improvement and culture alignment
