Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a high-impact Accounting Manager who wants to lead, build, and make a visible difference in a fast-moving organization. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the accounting function, develop a strong team, and be hands-on in the work that keeps the business moving forward. The Accounting Manager will prepare, review, and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules; establish clear priorities and accountability; and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule. This role owns the integrity of the general ledger, drives month-end and year-end close procedures, and leads financial audit readiness and execution.

This leader will ensure daily accounting activities are completed in a timely, precise, and well-documented manner across multiple entities and jurisdictions, while driving scalable processes, effective internal controls, automation, and accounting technology that improve efficiency, accuracy, and visibility. In partnership with business leaders, the Accounting Manager will turn reliable financial data into meaningful key performance drivers, trends, and insights that help guide operational and strategic decision-making.

Core Responsibilities

Accounting Leadership, Close & Audit Ownership

• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team by setting clear priorities, assigning ownership, monitoring performance, removing obstacles, and holding the team accountable for timely, accurate results
• Remain hands-on in daily accounting by preparing, reviewing, and approving journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, intercompany activity, and supporting schedules
• Own and drive the month-end and year-end close, including the close calendar, task coordination, account reviews, consolidation support, variance analysis, and delivery of financial reporting within established deadlines
• Lead financial audit readiness and execution by coordinating requests, preparing audit schedules, maintaining supporting documentation, resolving questions, and ensuring deficiencies are addressed promptly
• Ensure daily accounting transactions are recorded completely, accurately, and on time, with appropriate review, documentation, and compliance with company policies and GAAP
• Establish, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, workflows, controls, and service-level expectations across the team
• Develop, evaluate, and implement accounting and finance processes, procedures, automation, integrations, and reporting tools that streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and improve the speed and quality of financial information
• Define, monitor, and communicate key financial and operational drivers, including trends, variances, cash flow considerations, working-capital indicators, and other measures relevant to business performance
• Partner with leadership and operational teams to deliver actionable insights, explain financial results, and support sound business decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of accounting operations experience
• Demonstrated payroll processing experience across multiple jurisdictions
• Strong understanding of general ledger, AR, AP, and reconciliation principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
• Experience with accounting systems such as Sage, QuickBooks, or equivalent
• Familiarity with ERP systems

• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills, with the ability to keep priorities, timelines, and stakeholders aligned

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Professional, tactful, and customer-focused communication style
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-based accounting & payroll platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Sage)
• Familiarity with international payroll and corporate tax compliance
• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
• Post-secondary coursework or certifications in accounting
