Surveyor Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Surveying or related field preferred
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments and equipment
- Strong mathematical skills, including algebra and geometry
- Knowledge of drafting techniques and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints
- Experience with Trimble software or an equivalent software program
- Familiarity with GPS is required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Surveyor Responsibilities and Duties:
- Use surveying instruments and equipment, such as, GPS, total stations and robotic instruments
- Prepare and maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and digital records of survey data
- Perform calculations and analysis to determine distances, angles, elevations and areas
- Create detailed maps, plats, as-builts and reports based on survey data using software
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to provide accurate survey information for project planning and design
- Ensure compliance with surveying standards, regulations and safety protocols
