D.L. George & Sons Transportation Company is seeking skilled Class A CDL Truck Drivers for over the road routes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate a tractor trailer to pick up and deliver material and supplies
- Follow a predetermined schedule of pick up and delivery, maintain log of work-related activities including materials and supplies transported as directed
- Ability to maneuver and back truck in a safe manner
- Ability to assist with loading and unloading of material (valve operation)
- Ability to complete required documentation
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as lights, brakes, gas, oil and water, raising hood, climb to clean windshield and mirrors
- Perform minor repairs that may involve climbing or crawling under truck
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Physical Requirements:
- Meet Department of Transportation medical, drug and alcohol qualifications
- Operation of vehicle up to 10 hours per day depending on schedule, 40 to 60 hours per week, less than 12 hours daily
- May be required to utilize sleeper compartment when necessary
- Cranking dolly legs to trailers up to 5 times per shift
- Open and close valves to handle material on trailer
- Move and position conveyors and chutes, open and close silo lids (up to 10 pounds)
- Climb ~3 feet, with steps, to hook airlines up to 5 times per shift
- Mount and dismount 6-8 times for job functions
- May be required to work in adverse weather; wind, heat, rain, or snow
Requirements:
- Class A CDL
- 21 years old-minimum
- DMV records 3 years back
Experience:
- 2 years preferred
- Manual Transmission
