Staff Accountant

Location: On-site in Austin, TX

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily banking activities, including monitoring bank transactions, deposits, transfers, withdrawals, and other cash activity.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations between bank accounts and the ERP, researching and resolving discrepancies and unreconciled items.
• Maintain accurate and timely balance sheet support schedules, ensuring schedules reconcile to the general ledger and are updated for daily and month-end activity.
• Assist with month-end, and year-end close procedures
• File monthly Sales & Use Tax filings, related reconciliations, and tax payments.
• Manage and maintain fixed asset records, including additions, transfers, disposals, and reconciliations.
• Calculate and record depreciation, demonstrating an understanding of depreciation methods, useful lives, and expense recognition.
• Track, reconcile, and record supplier rebates and maintain related supporting schedules and documentation.
• Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and complete accounting documentation and support schedules.
• Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems
• Knowledge of GAAP and month/year-end processes
• Excellent problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and train others
