Position Overview
Dakar Academy is seeking qualified and flexible Supply/Substitute Teachers to support our K–12 Christian learning environment. Substitute teachers are responsible for maintaining continuity of instruction, fostering a positive classroom atmosphere, and upholding the school’s mission and values in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher across various grade levels (K–12).
- Maintain a structured, respectful, and engaging classroom environment.
- Supervise students and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
- Adapt to different classroom settings, subjects, and student needs with flexibility.
- Manage classroom behavior in a manner consistent with school policies and Christian values.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration.
- Provide feedback to the regular teacher regarding student progress and any notable incidents.
- Perform basic administrative duties such as attendance and classroom organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Education or related field preferred).
- Prior teaching or classroom experience is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and follow lesson plans effectively.
- Proficiency in English (instruction is in English).
- Alignment with the school’s Christian mission and values.

Working Conditions
