    Job description

    Overview

Dartmouth Health Cheshire Medical Center seeks a collaborative, clinically credible physician leader to serve as Chief of Cardiology. This leader will guide Cardiovascular Medicine at Cheshire Medical Center, advancing high-quality, patient-centered heart and vascular care for the Monadnock Region while strengthening alignment with the Heart & Vascular Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Health’s broader clinical, academic, and research resources.

Cheshire Medical Center is a nonprofit community medical center in Keene, New Hampshire, and a member of Dartmouth Health, New Hampshire’s only academic health system. As the only hospital in Cheshire County and a major care hub for the Monadnock Region, Cheshire provides broad primary, specialty, surgical, emergency, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, population health, and chronic disease management services.

Cardiovascular Medicine at Cheshire offers accessible local cardiology care with coordinated access to Dartmouth Hitchcock’s subspecialty expertise, advanced procedures, tertiary resources, clinical trials, and academic infrastructure.

Within a triad leadership model, the Chief of Cardiology will provide physician leadership for cardiology services at Cheshire, with responsibility for clinical quality, access, care coordination, provider engagement, operational performance, and alignment with Dartmouth Health standards and the Heart & Vascular Center priorities.

The successful Chief of Cardiology will be a visible, approachable, team-oriented physician leader with an active clinical presence and strong credibility among providers, staff, patients, and community partners. This leader will promote accountability, collaboration, quality, service, and continuous improvement while expanding access, strengthening referrals and care transitions, supporting recruitment and retention, and connecting patients in Keene and surrounding communities to both local cardiovascular expertise and Dartmouth Heart & Vascular Center resources.

Qualified candidates will possess an M.D. or D.O. degree, completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship and be board certified. The ideal candidate will bring clinical excellence, sound judgment, operational discipline, strong communication skills, and commitment to community-based cardiovascular care within an integrated academic health system; a non-invasive cardiologist is preferred.

All applications, nominations, and inquiries are invited. Please direct communications to the search consultants assisting Dartmouth Health–Cheshire Medical Center, preferably via email: [email protected] or [email protected].
