    Job description

    Overview

Dartmouth Health Cheshire Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine physician to join our primary care team in beautiful Keene, New Hampshire. If you value team-based care, strong nursing support, and a schedule that lets you thrive both in and out of the office, this opportunity was built with you in mind.

Our family medicine practice is located directly on the Cheshire Medical Center campus, giving physicians seamless access to hospital services and specialty departments right next door. This is a deeply community-rooted practice, and physician and staff well-being isn't an afterthought here — it's a strategic priority for the organization.

This is a 100% outpatient role with reasonable, manageable on-call responsibilities, so you can focus on what matters most: your patients and your own sustainability in medicine.

    The Opportunity

The ideal candidate is comfortable delivering acute care, preventive care, and chronic disease management across all ages. You'll have the chance to build lasting relationships with patients and their families, providing the kind of continuous, comprehensive care that brought many of us into family medicine in the first place.

    Position Highlights

    • Outpatient only — no inpatient responsibilities
    • Full-time schedule — 32 patient-facing hours per week
    • Generous visit times — 50 minutes for new patients, 25 minutes for follow-ups
    • Manageable volume — 18 patients per day
    • Phone-only call — supported by a nursing team that triages calls

    Requirements

    • Completion of an ACGME-accredited family medicine residency
    • BC/BE in family medicine
    • Ability to obtain/maintain a New Hampshire medical license

Why work at Cheshire Medical Center?

From primary care and over 160 inpatient beds, to a broad range of specialties, we’re large enough to serve our community while maintaining a personal touch.

    • Four-star quality rating from CMS for high-quality, safe, patient-centered care
    • Accredited as an ACS Surgical Quality Partner
    • Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission
    • Our CEO, Joseph Perras, MD, was named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2026 ranking of rural hospital CEOs to know.
