To assist in maintaining the school athletic grounds in optimum operating condition.
Pay Grade 2
Days: 236
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and care for all Deer Park ISD athletic grounds
- Must be able to read and learn chemical labels for preventive maintenance of weeds and pest
- Maintain athletic grounds with hand or power movers, edger, tractors and all related hand tools.
- Maintain and repair sprinkler equipment
- Must be willing to learn daily and annual maintenance of all lawn equipment
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must be able to work during the heat of summer
- Must be able to be insurable with the DPISD vehicle insurance (required for employment)
- Basic working knowledge of athletic events is helpful
- Perform other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Athletic Director
- Must come to work during assigned duty periods

- Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of the responsibilities listed

- Tools/Equipment Used: Garden tools; small hand tools; power tools; heavy equipment including backhoe, tractor, grader; and power mover; light truck or van
- Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions
- Motion: Frequent walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
- Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis
- Environment: Work outside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration; exposure to chemical (herbicides and fertilizer) and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; frequent districtwide travel
