Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean assigned area
- Responsible for security (locking doors) in assigned area
- Clean paper and trash containers in assigned area
- Capable of lifting 45 pounds
- Responsible for security of assigned keys
- Report unsafe conditions or needed repairs to head custodian
- Be responsible for supplies and equipment issued
- Be economical in the use of lights and turn them off when not in actual use
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the head custodian
All potential candidates must adhere to and meet the requirements set forth in Texas Education Code (TEC), Chapter 22, Subchapter C prior to employment regarding being fingerprinted.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
- Tools/Equipment Used: Riding/Standing floor cleaner, buffer, wet/dry vac, vacuum cleaner/jet backpack vacuum, carpet extractor, leaf blower, pressure washer and small electric tools
- Posture: Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling and twisting
- Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching and overhead reaching
- Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying between 20-80 lbs on a daily basis
- Enviornment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials; work on ladders and/or seizer lift; work irregular hours; work occasional prolonged hours
- Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress and must be willing to be flexible in time schedules
Qualifications
- Good health
- Ability to speak, read and understand the English Language
- Eighth grade education minimum
- Complete Employment Eligibility Form (I-9) by furnishing a document establishing identity and a document establishing employment eligibility
