Vineyard Manager (Fixed Term)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vineyard Manager to join our Marlborough Viticulture team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering parental leave.

Based at our 560-hectare Wairau Valley Vineyard in the heart of Marlborough's renowned wine region, this role is responsible for leading all vineyard operations and developing a high-performing team. We are seeking a motivated leader who can drive operational excellence, maximise vineyard performance, and support our people to reach their full potential.

Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, responsibilities will include:

• Develop and oversee implementation of weekly and annual viticulture plans
• Manage all operations in the vineyard from pruning through to harvest, ensuring budgeted vineyard yields and fruit quality specifications are consistently achieved
• Efficiently manage people and equipment to ensure all operations are completed on time and to specification. 
• Create an environment of continuous learning for our people. Lead, develop and manage a high performing team
• Ensure vineyard is compliant with all health, safety and environmental (HSE) legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice
• Contribute to the innovation and continuous improvement in all viticulture operations and practices

The successful applicant will:

• Have a tertiary qualification in Viticulture or Horticulture more than 5 years’ experience in viticulture
• Be a natural leader, passionate about developing others and inspiring teams to achieve their best
• Be motivated to succeed and thrive working in a high-performance culture delivering high-quality outcomes
• Naturally earn respect for your interpersonal skills and the way you engage with a wide range of people.
