Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer with expertise in power system modeling, simulation, and analysis for utility-scale, industrial, renewable energy, microgrid, and data center applications.

The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting the design, validation, and deployment of advanced electrification solutions. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering responsibilities and requires close collaboration with regional and global engineering teams.

The engineer will support project execution, business development, and customer engagement activities through technical studies, consulting support, and development of innovative power system solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Power System Studies

Conduct and lead detailed electrical system analyses including:

• Load Flow and Voltage Profile Studies
• Reactive Power Capability and Compensation Studies
• Power Factor Analysis
• Short Circuit and Protection Coordination Studies
• Combined Short Circuit Ratio (CSCR) Analysis
• Harmonic Analysis
• Stability Studies (Transient and Dynamic)
• Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) Studies
• Switching Transient Studies
• Insulation Coordination Studies
• Transient Overvoltage Analysis
• Ride-Through Performance Evaluations
• Arc Flash Hazard Assessments
• Cable Ampacity and Sizing Studies
• Grounding System Design and Analysis

Microgrid and Grid Integration

• Develop and validate system-level models of complex microgrids.
• Evaluate grid-connected, islanded, black-start, and transition operating conditions.
• Support integration of renewable generation, battery storage, reciprocating engines, gas turbines, and inverter-based resources.
• Perform utility and ISO/RTO interconnection studies.
• Support compliance with applicable grid codes and standards.

Technical Leadership

• Serve as a power systems SME for customer projects and internal engineering teams.
• Provide technical oversight of third-party consultants.
• Review study assumptions, methodologies, and deliverables.
• Support proposal development and customer presentations.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to leverage technical expertise and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum MS degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems, Power Electronics, or related field.

• 6+ years of industrial experience performing power system studies and simulation for utility, industrial, renewable energy, microgrid, or data center applications.
• Experience modeling grid-forming and grid-following inverters.
• Understanding of converter controls and protection systems.
• Experience with data center electrical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with AI and hyperscale data center electrical architectures.
• Experience with medium-voltage distribution systems and backup generation.
• Modelling tools such as PSLF, EMTP-RV, CYME, EasyPower, PSCAD, Etap, PSSE, Matlab-Simulink

Preferred Qualifications

Experience validating EMT models using field measurements.

• Experience with AI/Hyperscale data center power systems
• Experience with grid-forming inverter controls
• HIL testing experience
• Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) experience
• Utility protection and protection coordination experience
• Experience with HVDC systems
• Experience with FACTS devices (STATCOM, SVC)
