Solution Architect

The Technical Architect will play a key role in Virgin Atlantic’s Cloud modernization program – a multi-year modernization program covering multiple initiatives. The Technical Architect will be a part of Tech and Transformation organization, responsible for the cloud modernization and transformation. The architect will also be working closely with other technical architects and solution Architects to support mission-critical applications, serving as our technical expert. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Owns technical decisions and direction of the Transformation and Modernization projects.
• Plays an active role in the overall technical architecture and owns the technical responsibility of the success of cloud/non-cloud solutions.
• Overseeing each phase of software application development to ensure a high level of quality for each assigned project.
• Developing and defining business and technical operating procedures and standards.
• Identifying application and business requirements by communicating with technical teams and stakeholders.
• Keeping abreast of, recommending, and driving new technologies towards implementation and exploitation.
• Architect specializations will include App/Integration, DevSecOps, Site Reliability, Platform, Security.
