    Job Description:

    Job Summary

    This position is at Georgia Regional Hospital Atlanta

    We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care for individuals with behavioral health and developmental disabilities. This role involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management within a multidisciplinary team.
    Job Responsibilities
    * Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and risk assessments, for individuals with behavioral health disorders and intellectual/developmental disabilities.
    * Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and behavioral interventions.
    * Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring efficacy, side effects, and adherence.
    * Provide ongoing psychiatric follow-up care, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on patient progress and clinical outcomes.
    * Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and direct care staff, to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
    * Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and clinical rounds to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
    * Document all clinical encounters, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to established standards and regulations.
    * Provide consultation and education to staff, patients, and families regarding psychiatric conditions and treatment options.
    * Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and departmental regulations and policies regarding patient care, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
    * Engage in continuous professional development and stay current with advancements in psychiatry, particularly in the areas of behavioral health and developmental disabilities.
    Job Qualifications
    * Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
    * Completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program.
    * Board Certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or eligibility for board certification.
    * Current and unrestricted medical license to practice in [State, if applicable, otherwise state "the relevant jurisdiction"].
    * Valid DEA registration.
    * Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or severe and persistent mental illness.
    * Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
    * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
    * Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
    * Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
    * Commitment to providing person-centered, recovery-oriented care.
