As a Room Attendant at the Marriott Charleston Town Center, you play a vital role in ensuring our guests have a comfortable and memorable stay. You are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of guest rooms, upholding the highest standards of hygiene and order, and contributing to a positive guest experience. Your attention to detail and dedication to excellence directly impact guest satisfaction and the overall reputation of our hotel.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleans and sanitizes guest rooms, including bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas, according to Marriott Brand Standards.
- Changes bed linens and towels, ensuring fresh and clean items are provided.
- Dusts furniture, fixtures, and fittings to maintain a pristine environment.
- Vacuums carpets and floors, removing dirt and debris.
- Replenishes guest amenities, such as toiletries, coffee, and tea.
- Removes trash and recycling from guest rooms.
- Reports any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area, including housekeeping carts and storage rooms.
- Provides exceptional guest service by responding to guest requests and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Follows all safety procedures and uses cleaning products according to manufacturer instructions.
- Assists with laundry services, as needed, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding linens.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Previous housekeeping or room cleaning experience is an asset.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrates attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
- Exhibits strong time management skills to efficiently manage workload.
- Possesses communication skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Understands the proper use of cleaning products and equipment.
- Applies customer service skills to address guest needs and concerns.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a hotel environment.
- Familiarity with Marriott Brand Standards.
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions:
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
