WHY WE WILL LOVE YOU
- You have a minimum of 8 years of experience in eCommerce sales or a related commercial function, with a proven track record of managing, growing, and optimising an eCommerce business to achieve ambitious sales and profitability targets, preferably within an omnichannel retail environment.
- You have strong commercial acumen, business understanding, and a data-driven mindset, with the ability to identify market opportunities, respond to changing customer needs, and continuously optimise commercial performance across digital touchpoints.
- You have experience developing and executing long-term business strategies, setting budgets, establishing clear priorities, and driving accountability for business results.
- You have solid experience in eCommerce, including customer segmentation, personalisation, online sales optimisation, and the use of customer insights and analytics to enhance business performance and customer engagement.
- You have experience leading marketing and commercial initiatives, with a proven track record of designing and implementing campaigns that deliver measurable business outcomes and positive return on investment.
- You have a passion for creating exceptional customer experiences and leveraging new technologies, digital tools, and innovative ways of working to continuously improve the customer journey.
- You have proven people leadership experience, with the ability to build, lead, develop, and inspire high-performing commercial teams, including talent development and succession planning.
- You have the ability to introduce new ways of working, establish effective processes in evolving environments, and successfully lead teams through change and business transformation.
- You have strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, build alignment, and collaborate effectively across a matrix organisation.
- You have a strong interest in people's everyday life at home and home furnishing, with a genuine passion for understanding customer needs and creating relevant commercial solutions.
- You preferably have experience in the retail and home furnishing industry and knowledge of the IKEA brand, culture, values, and ways of working.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
- Act as a key responsible person within the eCommerce function to help set the annual eCommerce sales target based on projected market growth and planned organic and inorganic growth activities.
- Set the annual eCommerce sales strategy and follow through on its execution, remaining agile throughout the process to continuously optimise the sales strategy and implement appropriate measures in response to market changes.
- Propose and design the annual commercial plan to achieve the projected sales target, taking into consideration market trends, past and anticipated future sales trends, company commercial priorities and commercial activities.
- Facilitate collaboration with other functions across the organisation to realise the plan.
- Take full responsibility for eCommerce commercial activities and the product merchandising function, with people management responsibility for the Core Area Leaders team.
- Secure the growth, profitability and continuity of eCommerce by closely monitoring and steering the eCommerce Commercial function, continuously driving top-line results and improving the eCommerce channel's GP through sales steering and product-mix strategies and tactics.
- Seek and identify business opportunities to grow sales and improve gross margin by analysing market trends and benchmarking against other eCommerce players.
- Secure eCommerce growth opportunities and initiatives by exploring activities beyond business-as-usual operations, such as external commercial partnerships. Identify and liaise with relevant vendors for partnerships or service enhancements, taking the lead in commercial negotiations whenever required.
- Maximise commercial opportunities through the effective use of all media, and continuously seek improvement and enhancement opportunities to increase selling capabilities and functionalities across our digital channels. Support and guide the Core Area Leaders in delivering personalised offers to identified customer segments and executing the organisational engagement plan in a way that supports the goals and ambition of our "meeting customers with relevance" vision.
- Work closely with the eCommerce Business Navigator and Data Analytics team to derive insights from eCommerce sales performance and online customer behaviour, optimise our eCommerce merchandising efforts, and identify opportunities to enhance the eCommerce shopping experience.
- Establish effective ways of working and information sharing with other functions within and outside the Digital and Data department, ensuring effective collaboration and driving initiatives that contribute to eCommerce growth.
TOGETHER AS A TEAM
The function is responsible for driving IKEA Digital and Data Transformation agenda, future-proofing the business through end-to-end digitalization, omnichannel development, and advanced data utilization. It acts as a centre of excellence to identify opportunities, translate business needs into scalable digital and operational solutions, and continuously improve based on market and customer changes. The function is also responsible for IKEA eCommerce sales, operations and growth of the business, continuously evolving the eCommerce solutions/offers in enabling a seamless omnichannel shopping experience for better meeting our customer.
