    Job description

    The Embedded Software Engineer develops software and firmware source code in C/C++, Embedded C, and other languages following specified design, operational and cost constraints. Designs microcontroller based hardware including SoC, RFIC and other modules used in IoT solutions. Works on sophisticated, challenging projects needing cutting edge technical or commercial expertise with wireless technologies.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
    • Microprocessor, digital, analog, software design, and troubleshooting experience
    • Solid programming experience with C language
    • Experience with TCP/IP, Ethernet, and data networks
    • Cellular telecommunication experience
    • Excellent work attendance record
    • Minimum of eight years of engineering experience
    • Commitment to doing the job right the first time
    • Ability to learn technical materials quickly
    • Ability to work tactfully under deadline pressure
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • High degree of accuracy and ability to work with details

    Typical Duties and Responsibilities: 

    Software

    1. Designs, writes, maintains, tests, and debugs software that is modular, maintainable, and easy to understand.
    2. Learns and maintains existing software products.
    3. Uses debuggers, emulators, and compilers/assemblers for software development.
    4. Analyzes functional requirements and translates them into product design.
    5. Participates in the formal code inspection process with various product lines.
    6. Works with other staff and colleagues to clarify details and design test plans; records these in specification documents.
    7. Solves problems and works with a team or independently to meet project needs.

    Other

    1. Meets deadlines while conforming to DMP quality standards.
    2. Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
    3. Acknowledges responsibility to satisfy the customer, reduce cycle time, and eliminate waste.
    4. Observes company policies and continuously strives to find processes that improve efficiency while maintaining conformance to requirements.
    5. Observes and adheres to the DMP Data Classification Standard.
    6. May perform related duties or fill in for others in the department or other departments when requested. May train or instruct fellow workers regarding their duties.
    7. Contributes to the team effort by performing other duties as assigned. Job duties are subject to change as directed by management.
