    Automation Controls Engineer


    Provide process engineering production-line support to maintain product throughput. This includes problem solving associated with machine downtime, product defects and safety issues.
    1 Job requires bias for action, quick learning, self-motivation, and interpersonal and project management skills.
    2 In addition, provide engineering leadership in the identification and development of new automation equipment and processes to enhance the productivity, ergonomics and safety in our oil filter production operation.
    3 This includes the design and fabrication of in-house automation equipment, and the specification development, design review and validation of purchased equipment.
    4 Troubleshoot all Industrial Control Systems; Motion Control and Induction AC/DC motors
    5 Experienced with Automated Assembly Equipment
Ability to both Read and Create Electrical Schematics
Strong Troubleshooting Skills with Pneumatic Actuator Control and Relay Logic
    6 Performs other duties, as assigned.
    Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent in education and experience.
    Experience: 3-5 Years of Automation Design and Project Management Experience in a High Volume Manufacturing Setting.
    Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills.
    Administration:
    AutoCAD Skills Preferred (Electrical Schematics)
    Proficient in MS Office software
    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work priorities and planning and task delegation
    Interpersonal Relations: Build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of people
    Analytical and Conceptual:
    Good planning and organizational skills
    Use logic and appropriate methods to solve problems with effective solutions
    Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment
    Special Skills:
    Knowledge of Machine Guarding Systems and Power Distribution
    Competent in Allen Bradley PLC Programming (Control Logix, SLC, PLC 5)
    Working Knowledge of Mechanical Systems as they Apply to Automation
    Proficient in Project Management
    Fact Based Problem Solving Skills (Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Preferred)
    Lean Manufacturing Techniques Desirable
    Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, Programming a Plus)
    Dependability - Must be able to maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required.

    2+ to 5 years experience
    SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS
    AutoCAD Skills Preferred (Electrical Schematics)
    Industrial Control Systems; Motion Control and Induction AC/DC motor
