Vice President, Product Management, Core AI Foundations

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 20 years of experience in the full scope of product management (i.e., developing product outlook and roadmap, working with customers and driving development, coordinating launches, and ensuring post-launch success).

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD.
• Experience leading product management teams of 100+ including other VP and Senior Directors level PM leaders.
• Strong builder or operator of large-scale infrastructure platforms and distributed systems, with technical knowledge of public/private cloud, GPUs, virtualization, and containerization.
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in AI platform infrastructure, including data curation and context engineering for LLMs, agentic workflow orchestration, and machine-scale developer toolchains designed for secure, autonomous application lifecycles.

About the job

As the Vice President of Product for Core AI Foundations (AIF), you will lead the Product Management organization responsible for Google's foundational AI infrastructure and platforms. Partnering directly with the general manager of Core AI Foundations, you will shape the product strategy for our core technology stack and guide the platform investments that support product development across Google.
In this role, you will operate at the intersection of business priorities, AI research, and large-scale infrastructure. You will oversee a portfolio of core technical pillars, including:

• Context & Understanding: Responsible for sourcing and curating the data Google needs to deliver powerful AI models & optimize context for safe, intelligent results.

• Data Intelligence: Deliver the infrastructure and insights that empower agents to complete business-critical tasks autonomously.

• Integrated Software Platforms: Focused on enabling machine-scale SDLCs & runtimes that empower Googlers to be the world's most effective builders in the AI era.

• Product Development Ecosystems: Empowering Google developers with the foundations of the agentic era, enabling autonomous development of secure, scalable, AI-native, full-stack applications & ensuring that Google delivers the most impactful, market-tested innovation.

• AI Acceleration: Maximizing the impact for agents & development teams through efficient, reliable and protected-by-default systems, and a comprehensive catalog of high value, trusted data.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $550,000 (USD) + 80% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Synthesize 10X ideas into an actionable product strategy and multi-year roadmap for the AIF organization. Make clear, high-impact prioritization decisions under tight resource and timeline constraints to best support Google’s broader product needs.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a product management team that partners seamlessly with engineering. Coach senior product managers, cultivate strong bench depth, and foster a culture aligned with company goals.
• Partner across all of Google’s major product areas, engineering, and AI Research to align roadmaps and ensure a cohesive customer experience.
• Communicate product vision and trade-offs clearly to internal customers, technical partners, and executive leadership to drive key priorities.
