The Traffic Engineer, Network Analytics supports the optimisation of performance and safety outcomes for the South Australian transport network and its users.
The role
applies foundational knowledge in transport modelling, traffic signal operations and traffic engineering to assist in technical assessments of the transport implications of projects and developments.
By analysing data from smart transport infrastructure, the position contributes to reporting on network performance and provides recommendations to help manage existing network conditions, ensuring the efficient movement of people and goods across the network.
Requires a thorough technical knowledge of the traffic and transport modelling packages used by the department.
Sound Technical knowledge of traffic signal operations. Understanding of traffic management principles, systems and traffic signal operations. Working knowledge of industry standard Geographical Information Systems packages, and the ability to derive spatial insight using network-wide traffic and transport data.
