Transit Compliance Coordinator

Public Transport South Australia (PTSA) is seeking an experienced and capable operational leader to join the team as a Transit Compliance Coordinator. Leading a team of Transit Compliance Officers, you will play a key role in coordinating frontline compliance activities, supporting safe and reliable public transport services, and contributing to a positive customer experience across the Adelaide metropolitan network predominately interchanges and bus network.
Reporting to the Unit Manager, Transit Compliance, you will provide day-to-day supervision, coaching and support to a large operational team, ensuring staff are effectively deployed and equipped to deliver compliance, customer service and network support outcomes. You will coordinate operational activities, support responses to network incidents and disruptions, undertake investigations, monitor team performance and contribute to operational planning, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
We are looking for a confident and resilient operational leader with experience supervising field-based, compliance or customer service teams in a complex environment. You will bring strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, sound judgement, experience managing performance and wellbeing, and the ability to balance operational priorities in a dynamic environment. Experience interpreting legislation, conducting investigations and leading teams in customer-facing services will be highly regarded.
Based at Dry Creek, this role requires regular travel across the public transport network and participation in a rotating roster that includes early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays. The successful applicant must hold a current South Australian Driver's Licence and be able to obtain and maintain relevant employment screening clearances. The incumbent must be able to safely perform the inherent requirements of the role, including spending substantial periods of time on their feet, walking between locations, boarding and alighting buses, maintaining balance and mobility in a moving vehicle environment, and responding to operational situations in a timely manner. The role requires all successful applicants to meet pre-employment assessments, along with an interview, satisfactory criminal history check, pre-employment medical examination and reference checks.

Special Conditions

• A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
• A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be continuously maintained during throughout employment.
• Must be suitable to be appointed as a Prescribed Officer and Authorised Person in accordance with the Passenger Transport Act 1994 and Passenger Transport Regulations 2024.
• A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential and must be maintained throughout employment. 

Remuneration
OPS5 - $88,149 to $94,236 per annum + superannuation
